Barb Ellison lists 200-acre horse farm in Oregon for $ 19.5 million – Robb Report
Horseback riding is a pretty fun hobby (or a sport, if you’re serious), but raising and caring for horses requires the kind of wide open spaces that homes in big cities often can’t afford. Fortunately, a massive new compound has just arrived on the Oregon market that caters directly to the equestrian ensemble. The 200-acre property, dubbed Wild Turkey Farm, has just about everything you’ll need to house an entire herd of horses.
The estate is sold by Barb Ellison, the ex-wife of Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison. According to the The Wall Street Journal, Ellison is a longtime horse breeder and bought the property for around $ 3 million in 2001. It’s impressive, but nothing compared to her ex-spouse’s real estate portfolio, which spans Malibu beach homes. to most of the island of Lanai in Hawaii. The couple married from 1983 to 1986; They have two children together.
Ellison’s Oregon excavation is located near Wilsonville, a town just outside of Portland proper. It’s easily one of the more expensive homes in the area, and it’s located near the Willamette Valley, Oregon’s largest wine region.
In addition to the large plot of land that you will get with the purchase, Wild Turkey Farm includes a 10,000 square foot main house, 2,500 square foot staff / manager residence and a horse training barn. , as well as additional hay barns and sheds. The house itself has rustic interiors that indicate a more off-grid living; the master suite has its own gym, utility room and garage. Outside there is a pavilion with an infinity pool and an outdoor kitchen for entertaining.
Ellison currently has 90 horsepower on the property (they are not included in the purchase), and the future owner will likely be able to build more facilities and install even more horses, if they wish.
David Scapa of Nourmand & Associates, a longtime friend of Ellison’s, is the referral agent for the list. “I am very grateful that Barb trusts me enough to help her through this new chapter of her life,” he says. “She hasn’t bought or sold real estate for a long time, so it’s an honor to help guide her through this process.”
