The Post Office Holiday Money report found that Greece, Portugal and Turkey are the top destinations for Britons according to holidaymakers.
They rated better value for money than Bulgaria – the cheapest place according to the World Holiday Cost Barometer.
Spanish resorts took the top two spots in a Post Office poll to find destinations past visitors thought offered good value for money.
The Spanish Costas scored 92%, while the Canary Islands scored 91%.
Almost as many gave favorable approval ratings to Greece (89%) and Portugal (88%).
Additionally, 88% also felt that Turkey offers good value for money – good news for visitors in 2022 as Turkey is one of the few destinations where the pound will stretch further than the year. last !
Britons changing £500 can expect to receive over 50% more in Turkish lira, the equivalent of nearly £167 extra.
However, despite often being the cheapest country on the Post Office Holiday Cost Barometer, Bulgaria is not among the top 10 places for value for money according to the British.
The barometer looks at eight common tourist purchases, including drinks and meals, to find the cheapest spots for the lot.
With a good score of 80%, Bulgaria came in at number 12.
The lowest rated destinations are Dubai (44%) and Scandinavia (42%).
However, British visitors to Scandinavian countries – including Denmark, Norway and Sweden – will get more for their money this year.
The pound sterling is up 4.7% year on year against the Swedish krona (£22.42), 2.6% against the Norwegian krone (+£12.59) and 1.6% against to the Danish krone (+£7.88).
